We can do this!!

Being in quarantine has honestly been an interesting journey. At first I didn’t think it would be so bad but it crept up on me more than I expected. Moving classes on to zoom was a difficult adjustment. Honestly it unmotivated me a lot in being engaged in classes. Plus it sucks not being able to see the friends you would see everyday. The overall experience of not being able to physically be in college has been very challenging. Yeah we have the potential to do things online but it never really seems the same as in person. On the bright side, one thing that I have been able to learn to take advantage of was been able to slow down. As a college student, we all have busy schedules that at times can be overwhelming. Being at home definitely change my daily routine. Not saying that some days still won’t be packed with responsibilities. But sometimes there are times where I wonder “what’s next”. Many people feel like their day to day goes by so quick that you don’t get a second to even think. Programming ourselves to having that schedule set and always moving to the next thing. One this that I realize that I have to take advantage of especially during this quarantine is learning and appreciating slowing down. At times you don’t realize and miss the benefits of just taking a moment to breath. Yes of course at school you have to take a second to make sure you’re on track, but it might not happen as often as you want. Being at home, even though it can be frustrating, has thought me to learn and take advantage of being able to slow things down. Giving me an opportunity to appreciate the things that I might of looked over. So hopefully once things go back to normal ensure that I take that chance to be grateful for everything around me. Making sure to take a moment to reflect and able to keep myself on track. It’s important to be able to free your mind giving it a break. Many try to take time out to do something they enjoy or fit in a work out. For many it does work but not for everyone it could possibly just be another thing on the list. Everyone has a different style of operating but ensuring you find that something that brings you that peace is important. Whether it’s going outside for some fresh air, writing down your thoughts, watching your favorite show or meditating. Giving your mind a chance to wonder stress free is very critical. Especially during a time like this when things are uncertain. I would like to reach out for others to share how they use their time to “slow down”. Hopefully sharing new ideas can help another person gain a new peace.
